To me, when you speak other languages, you walk through a door full of new people to meet and amazing shows and plays to watch. Besides, if you like to travel and discover other countries and cultures as I do, it's always easier if you speak english or any other modern and commune language. It means freedom to talk with everybody and ask whatever you want to know! :)

However, it's also important to learn english in a practical way, because even if you know well the grammar and vocabulary, that doesen't prepare you for a real life use of any language.
