</p><p><b>Q1 - Why do I  want to use tablets in my  teaching?</b>
Students want to have a chance to use tablets during the lessons. Since motivation is important for learning I believe that creative use of this tool can be helpful for increasing students motivation to explore the field of knowledge in some creative and collaborative way by learning from various sources, not only from one textbook; it allows more flexibility, visualisation and personalised learning; also it alows to have some fun by introducing elements of a game/competition; finally, it of often provides me, a teacher, with better and faster feedback (e.g. Kahoot, Socrative, Nearpod, etc). It  also goes without saying that we need less paper copies and can share up-to-date materials instantly (texts, audio, video). <br></p><p>p.s. although it's not my subjest, it improves students' computer literacy in depth.<br></p><br><p><b>Q2 - What whole-school challenges do I anticipate facing when using tablets?</b><br></p><p>My so-called mobile class is a pilot project in my school. As a result, many teachers need training, they don't feel very happy about spending long hours when they have to discover this new world where their students are better off then their teachers; whereas the students' and their parents' expectiations, I believe, were too high as far as e-content and teachers' skills in the field are concerned. We'll see what the future may hold...<br></p><p><b>Q3 - What classroom challenges do I anticipate facing when using tablets?</b></p><p>It's always a challenge to make my students to remain focused on what I as a teacher want them to do. Since for the time being we can't technically block their tablets from surfing "the wildeness of the Internet", they often fail to completely focus on the class work.</p><p>Another problem is what apps to choose; there are so many of them and to learn to use them takes time for both students and teachers, as a result less time is left for the subject itself. <br></p><p></p>]]></description>

Vilnius Gabijos gymnasia was established by Vilnius City Municipality in 1986 and was a secondary school.
In 1993 it was given the name of Gabija, the ancient Lithuanian godess of fire. Gabija is a modern, continually learning community, open for positive changes and innovations, cherishing its members and fostering their constant need for knowledge and best use of potentials in life.
The mission of the school is to educate an independent, open to changes citizen, as well as honest, smart and initiative individuals.

We have three schools under one roof: primary, secondary and gymnasia. Every year about one 
and a half thousand pupils attend our school. </p>]]></description>
