Movement (products)

Movement in products can be exports and imports. In Nepal, they import various things such as gold, iron, steel, clothes, medicine, cement, electronics, food, and vehicles . My conclusion is that Nepal is a pretty rich country. According to trading economics, Nepal imports gold, iron, and steel, which are very valuable minerals .

"The exports of Nepal are vegetables, iron, steel, knotted carpets, carpets, clothing, grain and herbal treatments and oils." I got this information from the article, " Nepal Exports." I can conclude that Nepal has many items that can be use to make money. In addition, many of Nepal's export items are mostly the items we have in the United States. The article states, " The poor infrastructure of Nepal's communication and transportation has prevented extensive industry and trade in the country." This tells me that Nepal is having trouble exporting and making trades with other countries. According to the article, it also states, " It is vital that Nepal maintain good relations and set up agreements with its massive neighbor,India, to insure continued economic growth." I can infer that even though Nepal has poor transportation, the country is still going to make trades with other countries such as India. I think that Nepal is a country that does trades even when they're in trouble. From the article, it states, "Nepal mostly trades with India." This is why I think that Nepal has been trading with India for a long time that they are going to still maintain that even when Nepal is in trouble.

The location of a place can be the coordinates of it. In other words, the longitude and latitude:

India- 21.000 degrees North and 78.000 degrees East

Pakistan- 33.6667 degrees North and 73.1667 degrees East

Nepal- 26.5333 degrees North and 86.7333 degrees East

Bhutan- 27.4170 degrees North and 90.4350 degrees East

Bangladesh- 23.7000 degrees North and 90.3500 degrees East

Sri Lanka- 7.000 degrees North and 81.000 degrees East

Afghanistan- 34.5333 degrees North and 69.1333 degrees East

These coordinates were from Google.

Most of South Asia is located near the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea according to a map in Google Images. Also, some maps show that Afghanistan is part of South Asia and some show that it's not, but I believe that it is part of South Asia.

Here are some places in India that are very beautiful, Khajjiar (in short, it's a small little town), Chandertal Lake, and Sar Pass (judging from the picture, it seems like it is a fun place to sled). For 97 more beautiful places go to- 100 beautiful Places in India.

The Himalayas is important to India and frankly most of South Asia! According to the site "preservearticles", in it, it states,"1. They from a natural wall along the northern borders, which is difficult to cross. They also protect us from cold winds coming from the north. 2. The rivers originating from the Himalayas carry fertile soil from the mountains to the plains. They also help in generating hydroelectricity.

Human Environment Interaction (pollution)

Human environment interaction can really affect South Asia. According to a presentation called "24.3 south Asia-human-environment interaction", there is a body of water in South Asia called "The Ganges River". It is in India, then goes into Bangladesh. The article explains how this river is very important to people who believe in Hinduism. According to the presentation, "80% of India's population is Hindu". This tells me that this river is very popular in that location, too. But, the presentation also shares that pollution is affecting the river. This is because of pesticides. I know this is caused by pesticides because according to the article, pesticides and fertilizers, through drainers, make the water polluted. Also, in the article, "Air pollution in South Asia Reaches Epic Levels", smogs are getting so thick that it causes a lot of traffic and difficulty in mobility. I can conclude that South Asia has a higher rate of car accidents because the smog can probably cover drivers' views and they might not be able to see pedestrians and cars. The article also states that the cause of this is the burning fossil fuels, like diesel transportation, factories, power plants, etc. I think that South Asia is very scorching mainly because of the smog. I also think this because in the article, thick smog hangs out in the sky, blocking most of the sunlight! These huge smog clouds also change the temperatures and makes Nepal, Bangladesh, and India hot, which supports my conclusion of South Asia being very hot. Unfortunately, according to the article, South Asia has not made any move to preserve the region.

The raise of temperature and various precipitation are putting the South Asia people at risk. This is found in the article "South Asia and Climate Changes" In addition, it also says that not only the climate is risking many people's lives, the climate is also really affecting the place and there have been many floods and droughts. In the article "South Asia & Climate Change" from the world bank site the change to high climates in South Asia, lead to more extreme weather. According to the article, " Physical Features of South Asia," it says that "Himalayas is the youngest mountain." In addition, it also states that, " Nations- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Maldives." Some traditions that people practice in South Asia is the practice of Buddhism." Muslims practice a series of life-cycle rituals that differ from those of Hindus, Janis, or Buddhists." This is from Google. According to Google, ginger is a food that is used a lot in food, specifically in sweet and savory dishes. Ginger is also used in fried meat and pickled ginger which is also paired with rice (another popular food). Coming from me most Chinese food I've eaten has ginger and lots of rice (aside from noodle dishes and dumpling dishes).

There are other traditions to talk about aside from just food, like the Islamic traditions. The Muslims do a lot of life-cycle rituals like when a baby is born. In a site it says,"The newborn baby has the call to prayer whispered into the left ear, the profession of faith whispered into the right ear, honey or date paste placed in the mouth, and a name selected. On the sixth day after birth, the first bath occurs. On the seventh day or a multiple of the seventh, the head is shaved, and alms are distributed, ideally in silver weighing as much as the hair; a sacrifice of animals imitates the sheep sacrificed instead of Ishmael (Ismail) in biblical times. Religious instruction starts at age four years, four months, and four days, beginning with the standard phrase: "In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful." So this is what Muslims would do. Also the life-cycle rituals differentiate from whether the person is either Hindus, Jains, or Budhhist.

Movement (migration and transportation)

Many people from South Asia are migrating to other countries because of the massive change in climate (I stated this in the section labeled "Place"). Including the fact that a lot of transportation is done by train or what they call, rail.

People that immigrated from Bangladesh to India were apparently illegal immigrants since they weren't supposed to cross the borders.

In daily life travel, people can hitch a ride with a truck driver, tell the person where you want to go then you have to decide on a fair price. Also, rather than having a self-driven car, they usually get another person to drive them, kind of like a taxi. But the cheapest way to get around India is by bus. As it states in this site,"Buses are the cheapest way to get around India, though most travelers prefer trains for long-distance journeys." This makes sense because buses don't go too far but is cheap, whereas a train can travel farther but it may cost more. For more information on India's transportation methods go to Transport in India-Lonely Planet.

Here are some specifics for some goods that South Asians trade. In Bangladesh there main source of trade are textiles (if you didn't know what textiles are, they are basically a type of cloth) and garments, but some other goods that they also have are jute (a plant from the old world that is used to make rope and twine), fish, vegetables, and leather. I got this information from Google.

In Bhutan, they mainly ship calcium carbides, cement, wood products, and minerals, it is a very poor country with many people living below the poverty line. So these goods can support some people in the country with money. My information came from the site Bhutan in the economy section.

Then in India, the UAE (United Arab Emirates) is expecting India to become its major import, export destination by 2030. Just a quick little fact, in 2008-2009 the UAE and India were big trade partners.
