It is a YA adult fiction book that follows the story of a boy who does get out. I have had a few 8th grade students who have read this and last year one of them told me this is the first book that has every made him angry. He never knew a book could do that. He has always felt neutral. He saw the main character trying to change and all the things that were working against him.
