However, Eragon makes it to the Varden, who are in serious trouble from the Urgals who are invading Tronjheim. There isn't much of a material treasure. If I had to name anything, I think the treasure of the first book is Eragon's discovery of his own power and his learning of magic, but this is counteracted by the sheer power of the empire and the empire's intentions. Now Eragon knows his own power and is a changed person. Before he thought he wasn't important, that no matter what he did nothing would change about the world.
