There’s a lot of yellow used in the artwork, and it’s very bright as a whole. I also notice the presence of many people, whom are actually all famous people. Most of the people present are important figures. The thing that sticks out to me is La Catrina, she is dressed very differently from the dark suits. The contrast between La Catrina and the rest of the people is stark and creates emphasis to her presence. The style of the painting is reminiscent of the realism style from Europe. There’s implied form in the background, suggesting that trees and are present in the scenery There is a huge lack of line work, which instead brings out a more realistic depiction of the subjects. There’s also perspective being made in the mural, proving the foreground, and all the way to the farthest part of the painting by making the subjects smaller than those up front. There is also dimension in each figure, as shadows are used to show depth to their features. The trees have a specific texture to them, which implies the presence of leaves without painting each one. The shape of each subject, including the background elements, are very organic. There’s a large space between the crowd and the top of the mural. It allows the viewer to recognize the presence of other heads, which implies the presence of several people. Overall, there is a rhythm to the mural, the flow of the crowd is present along with the direction the trees seem to be waving in. Although this is only part of the mural (it’s 4.8 x 15 m! aka: 15.7’ x 49.2’ ft.) there is an implied flow of the crowd, and overall presence of the scenery. The background kind of curves along with the crowd to demonstrate how far back the like goes, while also imploring that there is another side of this crowd that we do not see.

Each version has its own charm, but if you want to pause and truly appreciate the beauty of the story through its artwork, then only the Manga can fully capture that experience. Below are 15 observations I’ve made:

    1. Pain wears a long black cloak that conceals his arms, legs, and part of his face. He is floating mid-air with both arms and legs spread wide, emphasizing his overwhelming power.

    2. The setting is a small town with a variety of buildings, both large and small, creating a rich composition.

    3. The streets all lead toward the mountain, where the Hokage's office is located—the heart of the village.

    4. The architecture blends modern elements with traditional Japanese building styles.

    5. Wisps of white smoke, drawn with curved and rounded strokes, rise from the ruined buildings below, suggesting an ongoing battle.

    6. Small dots scattered throughout the scene represent villagers moving about, along with patches of foliage at the top of the image, adding a sense of liveliness.

    7. The floating character immediately captures the viewer’s attention. However, due to the composition of the buildings, the eyes naturally wander before being drawn toward the roads leading to the mountain.

    8. The mountain, buildings, and main character are depicted in a three-dimensional style through detailed line work and shading.

    9. The mountain features broken and curved lines, enhancing its realistic texture.

    10. Five carved faces are embedded in the mountain, inspired by Mount Rushmore in the U.S. These are likely the Hokage who have led the village over time.

  • There are 2 flags in the artwork that includes the Soviet Union flag with the recognizable hammer and sickle with the open star on top and the Chinese Flag with one big star and four starts on the side.

  • There are 2 infamous dictators from the 20th century Joseph Stalin who runs the Soviet Union and Mao Zedong who runs China

  • On top of the artwork there is Chinese text that translates to "Sino-Soviet friendly alliance and mutual assistance promote lasting world peace."

  • In the background you can see soviet and Chinese citizens dancing and wearing professional clothing. The soviets are dancing on the left and the Chinese are on the right. Both sides are happy.

  • The environment on each side is different as we can see Moscow on the left and on the right I assume is Beijing.

  • Around the edges of the artwork there are a lot of flowers and fruits and leaves. There are sunflowers, daisies, apples, mangos, peaches, and I believe I see pears as well.

  • The colors that are often use in this artwork is mainly red to symbolize communism as it's scene in the dresses of what the Russians are wearing and the shirts that the Chinese are wearing, even on the flags we can notice lots of red. I would even note that the color red are on the fruits as well. Green is also seen all over the artwork as it's use on the clothing and leaves around the edges.

  • As we can see on the blue skies the clouds are clear and we can see white birds flying around Stalin and Mao. I believe this means peace for the two nations.

  • We can see a picture in-between Mao and Stalin that shows a picture of a white bird and the background is blue while standing on a flat hill.

  • On the background of Moscow we can see even more shadowy buildings.

  • The paper Mao Zedong is holding shows more chinese messaging.

  • The positioning of Joseph Stalin is him holding his hand up with his face expression being a serious tone.

  • In the background I also notice that the buildings are using more orange and yellow colors with a little bit of dark shadows

  • Stalin is wearing a white button outfit, it looks to be like a tunic. Mao is wearing the same clothing as stalin but more of a jacket, unsure due to the paper blocking.

  • Mao's facial expression seems to be smirking which is the opposite to stalins serious facial expression.
