What kind of ways did the Incas use their engineering skills to help build their empire? The Incas made the Royal Road, with branches off it, thatm, in the book, said it was "15,000 miles long." They carved staircases and gouged tunnels, and built suspension bridges, using vines and wood. Another achievement is when the Incas built a city on Machu Picchu. They made it by using giant walls, terraces, sloping ramps, and steep stairways. The Incas showed that they knew how to use their technology advancements.

It helped others so they are able to go places and cross land, over canyons and water. They also built a system of roads to keep their empire unified.
