Fitzgerald uses dramatic irony in which us as the readers know that the death of Myrtle fell in the hands of Daisy. Nick disgusted by the actions of Tom and Daisy following Myrtles death, Nick smearks under his breahte, "I couldnt forgive him or like him, but i saw that what he had done was, to him, entirely justified." Nick finds disgust in the fact that Tom sent a man to murder someone in revenge of someone that was killed.
