I didn't really walk around I only drove about 5 blocks down and back Major street. I noticed the sidewalks were pretty clean and the roads were wide, I felt pretty safe and was kind of confused as to why it had a bad rep.  

I wanted to get a perspective of what it was like during the day and night so I visited major street once again around 9pm the next day. Just around the corner of Major street there is a Maverick and I went in to get gas and grab a drink, as i was pulling in a woman sped in front of me (in the parking lot) parked in the spot I was going for and then got out of her car. As i walked toward the gas station she was coming outside , she lit a cigarette and blew the smoke in my face as I walked past. Maybe not the best way to enter the neighborhood.. Anyway when i drove back through major street I felt entirely different there at night than I did during the day. I kept my doors locked and there were people huddled in front of different buildings and alleys.
