The aim of our Project is to use the unifying power of football to improve the English communication skills, digital creativity, and collaborative abilities of students aged 12-15, while fostering universal values such as fair play, empathy, respect, and intercultural understanding. All our activities were carried out collaboratively by students. Finally, I applied interdisciplinary  integration in the Project.

1.English (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         E7.1.SI1. Students will be able to talk about other people’s appearances and personalities.

·         E7.4.SP1. Students will be able to make simple suggestions.

·         E7.4.L1. Students will be able to understand past and present events in oral texts.

Integration:

·         Students create physical and characteristic descriptions when personalizing  the AI anbassador in the Project.

·         Fair play-themed podcast and anthem writing projects provide students with simple suggestions about sport ethics.

·         Students learn about past and currently events verbally through football videos and audio stories.

2.Türkish (7.sınıf)

Acquirements:

·         T.7.2.2. Students will be able tok make unprepared speeches.

·         T.7.2.4. Students will be able to use body language effectively in speeches.

·         T.7.4.4. Stunts will be able to apply writing strategies.

·         T.7.3.5. Students will be able to  predict the meaning of unknown words and word groups based on the context.

Integration:

·         Students make unprepared speeches in "Football Culture" videos and podcasts.

·         Students use body language in goal celebrations and descriptions.

·         They use different writing strategies in fan stories and comic strips.

·         They create a "Fair Play" terminology dictionary.

3. Technology and Design (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         7.A.2.5. Creates a design by using art/design elements and design principles.

Integration:

·         Students design logos, posters, and comic strips.

4. Social Studies (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         SB.7.1.2. Uses positive communication methods in individual and social relationships.

Integration:

·         Through project activities, they learn to use fair play-oriented, positive, and respectful communication methods.

5. Mathematics (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         M.7.4.1.2. Represents given data in column, circle, or line graphs.

·         M.7.3.2.1. Explains the side and angle properties of regular polygons

Integration:

·         They analyze logo and poster voting results.

·         They use geometric shapes in the design of logos and comic strips.

6. Science (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         F.7.5.3.1. Observes the path of light as it changes medium and relates the cause of refraction to the change of medium.

·         F.7.4.4.1. Selects suitable methods for the separation of mixtures.

Integration:

·         They observe the behavior of light on different surfaces through optical reflections in videos and logos.

·         Uses digital tools during the comic strip and design stages. Focuses on paper saving and awareness of sustainable technology use.

7. Physical Education (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         BE.7.1.1.1. Demonstrates movement skills in games and activities that prepare for individual sports with increasing accuracy.

·         BE.7.1.2.2. Analyzes their own performance in games and activities that prepare for sports.

·         BE.7.1.2.4. Uses effective communication methods in games and activities that prepare for sports.

·         BE.7.1.2.10. Evaluates the performance of their peers.

·         BE.7.2.2.5. Uses reliable information sources related to physical activities and sports.

·         BE.7.1.2.6. Acts in accordance with the understanding of fair play in games and activities that prepare for sports.

Integration:

·         Through penalty kicks and original goal celebrations performed within the scope of the project, students demonstrated movement skills based on football with a creative and technical approach.

·         Students analyze their individual performance on the field by creating penalty scenarios with different roles and emphasizing their own goal celebrations.

·         Students used effective communication methods with their peers through podcast and message work prepared in international mixed teams.

·         They vote for their friends' work on logos and posters.

·         Students learned to access reliable information sources through football culture research and expert seminars.

·         Students developed behaviors consistent with a fair play approach by internalizing the ethical values of sports through fair play seminars and "fair play dictionary" studies.

8. Music (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         MÜ.7.A.2. Accurately sings our marches that strengthen the sense of national unity and solidarity.

·         MÜ.7.D.4. Distinguishes international music they listen to according to their genres.

·         MÜ.7.A.6. Shows willingness to form voice groups.

Integration:

·         The anthem, co-written and composed with AI, improves students' sense of unity and their ability to vocalize works correctly.

·         Students, getting to know the musical values of different cultures, distinguish between international music genres.

·         Teams formed for podcasts and anthems improve students' willingness to create active voice groups.

9. Visual Arts (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         G.7.1.8. Uses art elements and design principles while creating visual art works.

·         G.7.3.8. Explains how information and experiences affect the perspective toward a work of art.

Integration:

·         They used design principles while creating the project logo, poster, and comic strip pages.

·         Students evaluated art works during the logo and poster competition.

10. Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge (7th grade)

Acquirements:

·         DKAB.7.5.1. Recognizes the importance Islam places on good character/morality.

·         DKAB.7.5.4. Takes care to be moderate in attitudes and behaviors.

Integration:

·         Through fair play-based activities, students grasp values such as honesty and respect for rivals.

·         In penalty stories, students control their emotions and behaviors during moments of winning and losing.

The activities were carried out by students during regular school hours under the guidance of their teachers in the 2025–2026 academic year.

The project was integrated into the curriculum through an interdisciplinary approach, encouraging students to apply knowledge from different subjects and to understand the values of fair play, cooperation, and respect.

Students participated in webinars, prepared school and city presentations, located their schools on a world map, and took part in surveys related to eTwinning, sports, and fair play.

Through peer evaluation, expert meetings, and collaborative activities, students improved their language skills, communication, digital competence, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Objectives

• To encourage students to practice honesty and respect during football matches.

• To raise awareness about the role of fair play in building positive relationships among teammates and opponents.

• To provide opportunities for students to apply these values in real game situations.

Activities

• Workshops: Students attended interactive sessions where they discussed the meaning of fair play, rules of the game, and examples of good sportsmanship.

• Practice Matches: Several football matches were organized, with a focus on applying fair play principles such as respecting referees’ decisions, avoiding aggressive behavior, and supporting teammates.

7th Grade Technology and Design Curriculum Integration

Unit: Design Process and Promotion Learning Outcome : TT. 7. B. 1. Creates forms or graphical drawings for the solution of a design problem.

Integration with the Project:

• Design Task: Students can design a digital mascot, a logo, or an infographic that represents the "Fair Play" values (honesty, respect, and discipline) in sports.

• Technological Ethics: In line with the project's goal of "Following Fair Play," students can analyze how technology (like VAR or Hawk-Eye) ensures justice in sports and propose a new design solution to prevent unfairness during games.

• Collaborative Design: Using digital tools (Canva, Tinkercad, etc.), students can collaborate with their project partners from different countries to create a "Fair Play Trophy" or a "Fair Play Toolkit" design.

Critique for Improvement (As Requested):

While choosing a learning outcome is a great start, the common mistake is treating the "Technology" part of the course as just using a computer. To truly excel in this project, emphasize the "Design Thinking" aspect.

Instead of just drawing a picture of a ball, challenge the students to:

1. Identify a specific "unfair" situation in sports.

2. Brainstorm a physical or digital product to solve it.

3. Evaluate if their design actually promotes empathy or fairness.
