The writer says his poem is tricky. I think you can see that the tricky part is messing with the readers by being unclear and confusing leaving it to the readers interpretation. one of the question the poem is rising in the our mind is for example why he thinks that being wanted wear makes the road have a better claim "and perhaps having the better claim because it was grassy and wanted wear" leaving us with questions seems to be a motive in the poem you can also see that when he says "I shall be telling this with a sigh" its unclear whether the sigh represents a positive or negative reaction

Robert Frost said the poem "The road not taken" is a very "tricky" poem. I think he said that because there are plenty of parts in the poem that are confusing and can be interpreted in multiple ways and perhaps not in the way the writer wanted.

for example, The poem's title is "The road not taken" when the
poem speaks about the road that was taken so we might infer that he feels he made the wrong choice. another example, the first line in the last paragraph "I shall be telling this with a sigh" can be interpreted in two ways either as a sight of relief meaning he made the right choice or as a sigh of regret meaning he made the wrong choice.

The quote given has helped me understand that the poem is open to several interpretations as with life so one reader can understand one thing from the poem and someone else can understand something else about there lives and the choices they make.

robert frost reffers to his poem "the road not taken" is a very tricky poem because he's messing with the readers by being very confusing for the readers so they can understand it in their own way.
the writer says "i took the road less traveld by,and that has made all the diffrence" by saying that we arent getting a clear understanding of his opinion is he happy with his choice or does he regret making this decison?
another example is that he wrote "i kept the first one for another day" but he knows he cant go back there but hes still holding on to that thught.
to my understanding the meaning of the poem is to let every one think and explain in his own way

in the poem there are many sentences and expressions that are unclear and can be interpreted in many ways including: "And that has made all the difference" this sentence can be interpreted as a good thing (that the difference is good) or as a bad thing (that the difference is bad).
"i should be telling this with a sigh" it is unclear if this sigh is a positive sigh or a negative sigh.

when robert refered to the poem as a "tricky, tricky poem" he meant that some parts of the poem aren't straightforward, but open for interpertation.

For example: "i should be telling this with a sigh" it is unclear if the sigh is positive or negative, AKA if he is pleased with the path he chosed or disappointed.

Another example: "and that has made all the difference" we are unclear about the definition of "The difference" since we are given very little information about what happened before and after the road, so we can't infer too much to understand these parts of the poem.

the quotes made me understand that trying to understand and interperet the poem is like chossing the correct path at a crossroad - with very little information to lead us to a conclution, this poem is indeed "Tricky".

From this quote we can understand that the poem is “tricky”, unclear and confusing, there is a lot of place for interpretation and many ways to understand what the meaning is.
In the poem “The road not taken”, we can see an example for the quote by the “sigh”- it’s hard to understand what Frost meant, is it a sigh of relief or regret?
Another example is “and that has made all the difference”- it’s confusing, we can’t really know if the poet meant it in a positive or a negative way.
In my opinion the theme of this poem is decision making, Frost is writing about life changing decisions, and how tricky it is.

I think that the writer called the poem “tricky”, because people can see different meanings in the poem, but still none of them would be 100% correct. The poem talks about taking important decisions, but every person reading the poem can make different meanings from every word, can look at it differently, and explain and see it differently.
Many references in the poem to real life decisions can seem with different meanings to the eyes of others, and while some may disagree with some of the poem’s lens meanings, such as when you take a decision you can’t “come back” from it, and there’s no way of turning back, others may disagree.

This fact affects my understanding of the poem because I interpret the intention of the poem perhaps differently than the poem writer (Robert) intended.
