         <description><![CDATA[<div>Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic<br>reaction. It can occur within seconds or minutes of exposure to something a person is allergic to.<br><br>Epi-pens (epinephrine autoinjector) are <br>medical devices for injecting a measured dose or doses of epinephrine by means of autoinjector<br>technology. They are used to treat anaphylaxis.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Anaphylaxis has 4 main causes. These causes are food, medicines, insect stings, and general anesthetics.<br>Most cases are caused by a bee sting or eating foods that are known to cause allergies, such as peanuts or<br>tree nuts.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>If not treated, anaphylaxis  could lead to unconsciousness or death. Symptoms normally occur within minutes of exposure to the allergen. These include skin reactions,<br>low blood pressure (hypotension), constriction of the airways and a swollen tongue or throat, weak and<br>rapid pulse, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, dizziness or fainting.</div>]]></description>

To treat anaphylaxis an epi-pen is commonly<br>administered to minimize the effects. 911 should immediately be called. Tight clothing should be loosened. If<br>the person does not appear to be breathing begin CPR until paramedics arrive.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The best way to prevent anaphylaxis is to stay away from the substance you are allergic to. The person<br>could also wear a medical alert necklace or bracelet to indicate the allergy to specific drugs or other<br>substances. Another thing to do is to keep an epi-pen on you at all times. It is also important to be aware<br>of the food you eat and make sure they don't contain any food you are allergic to.<br><br></div>]]></description>
