Country:Portland, Oregon, USA
Year:1998
Transcendence by Keith Jellum
It is an outdoor sculpture of a fish flying through the brickwork above South park Seafood on salmon street. The sculpture measures 11 feet (3.4 m) long and is made of hand forged and welded bronze. I chose this piece because I think is it is really great to have humorous art too other then just pretty and normal art. It also really caught my attention because it was a fun and exciting art piece that was fun to see and look at. Also when I saw it the art just gave me a smile.
I think the value was to give a moment of humour and a smile to anyone who saw the the sculpture. Also I think they built it because the street was called salmon street and it was a seafood building.

All I know is that it was taken in New York City, thats all.
I chose this pic because because as I was looking through all of these public art installation pieces I was thinking that this was going to be so hard. All of these pics are so nice and cool but then I saw this humungous bear looking through a window I thought that it looked so nice and unique and fun. I imagend working in that bilding with a big huge blue bear looking at me all day. I just thought that it was just fun, so I piked it.

This piece is abstract and can show many different emotions depending on the way you interpret it, it could be confusing to some people but feel exciting and fill someone else with joy. When I see this piece i see a piece which anyone can enjoy because of the many depths to it.
