         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Her daughter Persephone was abducted by Hades to be his wife and brought to the underworld.<br>-Demeter was angry due to her daughters loss so she laid a curse on the world that caused plants to die and the land to become dry. <br>-Persephone ate a pomegranate during her time in the underworld so Hades had a claim on her.<br>-During certain times of the year Persephone had to return to the underworld. During this time Demeter grieved, this resulted in winter. When Persephone would return it brought on the season spring. </div>]]></description>
