Alexander & Jefferson had 2 different visions for our economies and societies future. Jefferson believed the power should be held with the people but on the other hand Alexander believed in a strong central government. These differences manifest within the issue of slavery. The people who supported the states powers and beliefs would say yes to keeping slavery whereas people who supported the central government would say no to keeping slavery.
