Because of the American belief that their destiny was to have control over their part of the America’s they continued to expand until they reached the Pacific Ocean to achieve what they thought was their destiny to complete.

1814- Treaty of Fort Jackson

General Andrew Jackson made a native tribe give up 21 million acres of land to the United States in what would become Alabama and Georgia.

1817-1818: First Seminole War

This war was a result of native tribes keeping escaped slaves and the result of this war was a more aggressive look toward natives and further fueled the removal acts that would be implemented later one

1823-Johnson v. M'Intosh

This Supreme Court case ruled that native Americans couldn’t hold a title to land and this specific court case is one of the most influential actions that lead to the justification and implementation of the removal act

1830- The Indian Removal Act

Because of these events along with others it lead to the act being passed and native Americans being taken and pushed west of the Mississippi River near Michigan where they faced death from either the road there or disease, along with the fact many different types of natives were put into one place where cultural conflict occurred.
