Azaleas are spectacular flowering shrubs in the genus rhododendron, they are native to several continents including Asia, Europe and North America.
Very often they get planted as ornamentals in the southeastern US, southern Asia, and parts of southwest Europe.
By now over 10,000 different cultivars in innumerable colors have been selectively bred, including Azaleas for gardens and parks (hardy) but also for indoors (not hardy).
