You really brought forward the idea of the journey and what it can mean here: it can be a place we go or a place we are or somewhere we will be. And I really like the recurring imagery of the breath and the winds; it's like there's freedom, yet it's still constrained. It's true that sometimes journeys are a cause we don't understand completely when we set out on them.

The imagery here is very vivid. I can imagine the journey. After I read this poem, my phone went off and it was a picture of my three year old daughter at school playing with her friends. I thought she looked so big so I looked through my pictures on my phone from when she was a baby until now and just smiled to myself. When I put my phone down I realized that reading your poem inspired me to think about the journey that is fatherhood and put me into a reminiscent mindset from the beginning of the journey. Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing Olivia!

Great job! Despite how much of the Whitman and Steven poems have darker stuff, you did a great job managing to keep your poem light and positive! My title to my poem is similar to yours, Journey of Life. I touched on some of the harder times, but I think I prefer yours!

Olivia, I really enjoyed reading your spliced poem. I picked the same two options as you, Maya Angelou and Joy Harjo, so it's really interesting to see how different our poems came out. I liked your use of imagery in this, and I like the way it ended, it tied it all together. Thanks for sharing! -Cat Sigman

I love how progressive minded it is, and ending with "it was a small part of the pantomime" as if we're all performing our own part of the same act really hit home. Great read
