They are afrraid to come out because most of thier parents will not eccept them, and in some cases throw them out of thier own homes. People are against the LGBTQ+ community because they THINK that its not real, or its just another attention thing our generation came up with, but what they fail to realise is that it has been an ongoing thing even in thier generation, people just were too afraid to come out, so therefore it was unheard of. People like them are forced against thier own wills, because of the fear that elders put on them. They fail to understand that they cannot choose who they love, and they cannot choose who they are. They tell us that they aren't human, and they are alienated in society, all because people choose to be ignorant. They tell they "Its just a phase" and "Your just doing this for attention", but in reality, thier afraid of themselves sometimes. they are already afraid of who they are, because others make them think that their not human. They tell them that their wierd, their disgusting. their freaks, and many more things, that to their eyes, make them hurt more than others can imagine. They make them question wether or not their actually making it up, or if their even good enough, and most of all, them saying those things make them believe that they are alone. Sometimes they forget that there are accepting and loving people, who will accept them, no matter who they love or what they choose to identify as. I chose this topic because it needs to be recognised, and talked about, wether than just thrown over peoples heads, and laughed about, because its a real thing that burdens them daily, and it affects thier lives greatly. I feel this topic needs immediate attention because many of the members of the LGBTQIA+ are crying out for help, feeling suicidal and deppressed. It really may not seem like a big deal to those who don't understand, but to those who do, or to those who deal with this problem or who have dealt with it in the past, im truly sorry.
