Public education is a system that is created by the government of a state of a country to provide free education for kids of that state of country. It should provide equal education to all studnets regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. basically the goal is that everyone gets an education and that education is the same for eveyone.

When school districts dotn have enough money they can get some form the government or they can get property tax levy swap which is when the schools that do have money give them some. (Crystabel Afwireng)

Public education allows families to send their children to school for free, and allows the children to hopefully get proper education. It also opens up opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities. It is payed for by the various forms of government, and taxes. Stakeholders are parents, students, staff, and others who each have an important role or "stake" in the success of an education system. Each role plays a different part in the system, and they all have different goals and objectives in their jobs.

The curriculum of schools are often decided by individual committees without any teacher or student involvement.

Richer districts have better schools, and poorer districts have less than average schools, however if they need more money then they can ask the government by filling out a form - Toby

I learned that public education has come a long way, overcoming many challenges, one of which was segregation. Students were often separated into different schools, which were typically funded unequally. Although this challenge has been addressed over time, its effects are still visible today, particularly in areas with low tax revenues. Another insight I gained is that schools are compelled to administer standardized tests because their funding depends on the results.
