Of the three paths to liberation, which are karma marga, bhakti marga, and jnana marga, bhakti magra is the most widely practices (Brodd 101). Lord Krishna, an avatar of Vishnu, approached Arjuna and guides him to his dharma, or duty (Brodd 101). Arjuna starts to give up during battle as he, "sat dejected, filled with pity" (Miller 29). Lord Krishna started to counsel Arjuna with bhakti marga, "the bewildering senses attack his mind with violence. Controlling them all with discipline he should focus on me; when his senses are under control, his insight is sure" (Miller 37). Lord Krishna wants Arjuna to continue fulfilling his duty by seeking the Lord's guidance through discipline yoga, or bhakti yoga. By practicing bhakti, Arjuna is able to calm his mind and come to terms with the obstacle he is facing. When the temple dedicated to Lord Jagganath was created in Bath, the worshippers in the community had a safe place to seek guidance, practice bhakti, and speak to others within their community who shared the Jagganath culture. They were able to seek similar guidance that Arjuna had experienced during his battle, praying and dancing to come to terms with their obstacles.
