I learned about the gruesome and terrible atrocities that were committed against Gabriel and how preventable it was.

One thing I liked about the lesson was all the court cases and the lecture about the ethics and legal issues because those parts really connect the lesson to real life and really puts things into perspective about how education really works.

One thing I learned is that there is more to being a teacher than just what's on the lesson plan. It's important to pay attention to the students' mental, physical, and emotional well-being. What I liked about the lesson was how informative it was. For example, they educated us about our rights as teachers and what signs of abuse look like.

It was interesting to me to learn about The Lemon Test, I've never heard of that before but the concept makes sense. It's really important for us to know all the rights we have and how we are protected for certain things and obligated to many things regarding children. This was a tough topic but I think you guys did a really great job.

Oh! And I loved your slides they were so nice to look at - very much 'teacher-like' and aesthetically pleasing!!

I learned that teachers are obligated by law to report child abuse but that sometimes social workers can still fail the child. I hope that in the future, there will be more I can do for an abused child than only report the situation and nothing more.
I also learned that corporal punishment is still legal in some states. I had truly believed that it was outlawed in the US.

One think I liked about the lesson was the real life examples that were referenced. While it is sad that such harmful things are going on in the world, it is helpful to see what signs look like in actual experience instead of just reading about it in a textbook.
