Essentially Skinner suggested that children learn language via imitating others . Positive and negative reinforcement develops a child's learning by rewarding them if they do well and pointing out any mistakes they make so they can learn from them. Imitation can be seen when a child incorrectly uses a feature they have seen elsewhere and applied it to the word or structure they're using , despite it not actually making sense within the context of the sentence or text.

Basically Chomsky believed that children are born with an inherited ability to learn any human language The main part of nativism is the Language Acquisition Device , or LAD for short . The concept regarding LAD is that there is a built in part of your brain that controls your acquisition of language and the actual language you speak. Chomsky pointed out that a child couldn't learn a language through imitation as its used so irregularly around them.

Bruner states that interactions between the child and others is crucial to the development of a child's language acquisition . Via interacting with others , children pick up new words and features to add to their writing , however a drawback of this could be that they don't know how to correctly use these words or features within the correct context.

Frameworks - Focus on assigning various features into different frameworks in order to give your essay a more concrete structure. These frameworks for writing may include : Graphology , Lexis , Grammar , Discourse and Orthography
When you get to actually writing the essay ,please don't feel obliged to include everything you've annotated if you don't feel its actually relevant to the question at hand
Applying theories : When writing your essay ,it is important to include theories within your essay . If you are unsure how to do this , here's some tips:
If there's a feature that seem really odd or out of place, its probably been imitated - Children often don't know how to use various things that they've imitated , so if it looks anomalous , it might be due to imitation.
Makes links to stages of development throughout the essay
Apply your points regarding context , for example with More Knowledgeable Others (MKO) to social interaction theory
Link back to Barclay's stages of development when ever possible
