NOTE: please think like a marketer – these should be catchy, memorable, and positive. Be inspired by our past PJLC projects, these are ones from recent years. And Connecting to Others is NOT our tagline – just what it is temporarily be named for reference purposes.

1. Has anybody ever seen those "You've Been Spooked!" signs around Halloween? Maybe we could do something similar with reaching out to others. We could circulate images via Instagram prompting people to connect to others. You would be challenged to reach out to one or two people that you've never connected to before, share the image, and the idea would spread.
2. This is a bit of a weird idea: the PJLC creates small, little keychains with holes in them; sort of like small circles of wood with the goal of this project inscribed on them. These can be distributed throughout our schools. When you receive one, you take a paperclip and attach it onto the hole. The writing on the keychain then tells you to hand the keychain with the single paperclip attached to another person. Then, they attach a paperclip of their own and the cycle continues. I'm not really sure if this would work, but it's just an idea!

It might be even more fitting because social media is a platform people use to make connections, so in the posts we could put something like "message your third follower today!" or "reach out to me, I'm looking for someone to talk to!" to encourage connections being formed.

2. In each of our schools, we could host virtual hangouts for students to meet new people and chat.

I really like the tik tok or starting trend idea, I think that is very prevalent in today's society (Linda's idea). I also think Jacob's idea based of the Halloween activity would be super fun! Some of my ideas are:
- One idea could be to have the community send in stories/tips/memories of a time when connecting with someone or being there for someone really made them feel good or helped them. We could then use all these stories to create a giant art piece. It could be almost a visual representation of how a community can be there for each other and the importance in that. They did a project in the New York Times where someone wrote their love story but in only 100 words/3 sentences LINK. We could do something similar to this (but for stories about connecting with others not love) and then make the stories into a visual art piece.
- We could host and plan a community wide pen pal event. We could pair up community members to reach out to a strangers and make a new friend.
- This may be too big of an idea but we could host an outdoor covid-safe movie night for the community. Everyone could connect while being outside. Before or after the event we could tell the importance of connecting with others.

Another idea would be an in-person event, if possible. Something virtual could work, but I think we all need a break from our computers. In terms of what the in-person event could be, maybe we could partner with some local small businesses since I know they are really struggling from the lack of business right now.

I think two ways of communicating this topic can be word of mouth, but not just traditional word of mouth. If we can get support from school officials and have them brodcast our message that would be impactful. Second I think we could potentially run competitions for publicity that have something to do with out goals and offer rewards to incentive people and raise awareness.

I like the idea of a website because it is permanent and something one can always refer to. One way we could increase the traffic of the website is with a physical object with the website name. If we went with a slogan including "caring" maybe we could put the website name on carabiners (all about connecting things) and distribute them to the community.

If we could partner with schools or libraries in our communities in order to come up with some specific PJLC-created activities that are specifically for this campaign, we could add contact information for things that other people suggested, like a pen pal system. Regardless of the partnership or lack thereof, we could simply add the pen pal system or a giveaway item with our slogan to existing activities at schools.

2. We could give out small games (like decks of playing cards) that have the campaign slogan on the backs, because that could encourage people to start a game of cards and a conversation.
