         <description><![CDATA[<div>While working through the resources for module 12, I was excited to have a significant “aha” moment when I realized how many options are available for teachers who are planning a STREAM lesson. I now have a clear idea of how all of these disciplines are all interconnected and promote accessibility of content to ALL learners. I feel fortunate to be preparing to teach in state that implemented the use of the NGSS. I feel that teachers will be preparing students for inquiry based learning that will serve them for the rest of their lives. </div>]]></description>

         <title>“Aha” moments...</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Learning about the concept of a novel engineering project and planning one myself was a great experience that helped the idea of cross curricular cohesion to really click with me. I have a background in teaching preschool age children and many of the lessons for this age group are centered around a book that they are introduced to before the activity. Planning this lesson reminded me of the creativity that can be tapped into when lesson planning around young children’s books. <br>I enjoyed planning the novel engineering lesson but also felt greatly inspired thinking about the endless ideas that I can draw from literature! I can see how this approach can help to engage students who are more interested in language arts than in certain disciplines of math and science. </div>]]></description>

         <title>How my skill set has changed...</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Taking the time to research the organization of the NGSS student performance expectations was very helpful for me to approach planning a STREAM science lesson. <br><br>I plan to use phenomenon discussions as much as possible with my children and future students. I appreciate how this approach highlights the phenomenal events and occurrences that are relevant to students everyday lives as well as unusual phenomena that are exciting. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Questions that have surfaced...</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A good amount of questions have surfaced for me during this module work but with the resources I have explored I feel much more prepared to approach teaching with the NGSS. Here are a few questions that have surfaced for me:<br><br>1. What are some methods for younger students to show their understanding of lesson content for assessments? Older students often record their hypotheses and observations in a science journal. How can we support younger students to record their ideas?<br><br>2. How much time do teacher have to dedicate to STREAM learning throughout the school year? <br><br>3. What are some creative ways that art can be incorporated into STREAM learning for older students?  <br>To answer this question I will explore ideas in Pinterest and teacher blogs. </div>]]></description>
