Question 2 Love and Hope

Chapter ten focuses on my age range-the adult. Specifically, however, it talks about on page 296-298 how the average adult finds and interprets love. It mentions online dating and its prevalence, exploring sexuality among other things. However what I viewed most worthwhile was the information on attachment in relationships. It gave insight on myself as I currently navigate my own intimate relationships. On page 303-306 it mentions how avoidance/dismissive tend to stand alone since so much energy has to be dedicated to piercing their walls. I relate to this in my friendships and my intimacy struggles. However despite these flaws, I'm glad the book stated that those who can change usually do so in the long run (pg. 303). So I viewed this information as the best since it gave seeds of hope!

Question 3 Marriage has its blessings!

The best information from chapter 11 comes on page 313-314. Here it explains the benefits of marriage such as vulnerability, health and prosperity. Personally I believe in this day and age too many people disregard marriage because of so many shattered and broken relationships. They say its not worth it or downplay its impact. However like the book states it is important. People will live happier more fulfilled lives when these relationships are nurtured and cherished. Without these efforts marriages will fall apart and never see the blessings people desire.

Question 4 A look at your health

On page 344 in chapter 12 it talks about how important physical health influences mental sharpness. Being in healthcare it can not be understated how crucial it is to stay fit. I hear my doctors all the time mention that if patients were just more complaint in their exercise regime they wouldn't have to take all these medications. However many people fail to consider, usually until its too late, how physical exercise can circumvent the decline of ones mind. You hear some sad stories of people losing their memories due to disease and age, its heartbreaking. So anything you can do to prevent or prolong this from happening should be a priority.

For me personally understanding different types of elder care is pretty beneficial for me. From my perspective living life to the fullest also means making sure I don't burden or worry those who care for me. So helping guide my family into a decision that we don't regret means a lot to me. Whether to use assisted-living facility or make home health care arrangements knowing and understanding these options will help ease my stress and theirs. Especially if I become immobile home health services are a great alternative than trying to put me in a nursing home facility. The worst thing that could happen to me at that age is to be trapped in a nursing home where I'm mistreated and abandoned. So being knowledgeable about other alternatives will guide me into a more fulfilled life. (page 417)

My quiz gave my life expectancy around 70 years old. It pointed out two areas where I need work-my diet and exercise. Thankfully though I am currently trying to absolve these issues as we speak. I joined a new gym to help me better reach my exercise/weight goals and I also added a new food regime. I had a habit of going to get fast food during my lunch breaks which the website chides for doing. However, now I have pre-portioned and healthier food to eat during lunch to set me on a better health path.

Question 7 Emerging Adulthood

Personally I think that emerging adulthood is ideal. Its the age range where you are free to explore and discover who you are and where you belong (pg 286). I'm also biased since I'm in this demographic however you get the most independence without being tied down. Once you hit your 30s and beyond you are more likely to be hampered by your health, children, and other responsibilities. Under 20 you are still being restricted by your parents or lack of emotional/physically development. So a person like me who wants to go explore the world come back to work then explore the world again is really hard pressed to choose emerging adulthood as ideal.

I personally enjoyed the course I learned enough throughout the semester to justify taking it. I really enjoyed the knowledge I gained about early childhood and emerging adulthood because it helped me gain better understanding of me and my sister. I think the only issue I had with the course was tracking replies through our discussion boards. I wasn't getting notifications of them so I never saw them till it was much too late. I would add a group project discussion board. So in essence two or three people would pair together to add how their experiences relate to any part of the lifespan scale. Would be fun and laid back if it isnt too much of a chore to make groups.
