In this exhibition, we see how women are portrayed through the lens of female artists. Though each piece is made with a different medium, they each depict a woman as the focus and the women in these artworks are shown in a sophisticated manner. We see these women fully clothed in what would be considered men’s attire; in Jeanne Madden’s painting a woman stands with her hands on her hips and legs spread apart, a posture of confidence and power. They share another similarity in the way they all stare directly ahead, as if they’re staring back at the viewer.
