I also feel that sometimes in work gender and race play a role in what high position you get. The race and gender hierarchy can be a one-to-one match to your company position if a workplace is prejudiced and is a white supremacy company. He talks about wanting to be equal with one another, but some of his words like "I employ your people" describe that racial hierarchy and dynamics he subconsciously believes in.
