Mental health is one of the most common health issues that people in the UK have. A lot of young people and children have got some sort of mental health illness this can be due to something that has happened to them or something that is happening to them at the time. 
There are approximately 200 known mental health illnesses that people all around the word experience, the most common ones are depression, anxiety, dementia, schizophrenia, and anxiety disorders. The symptoms of these illnesses can be a change in mood and also personality as well, also social withdrawal so you’re less interested in going out and meeting friends, also a decrease in motivation. 
There are more than 6,000 suicides in the UK and Ireland, also 55,000 suicides in the European union. These figures show that there is one death by suicide every 2 hours, in these numbers there are 4 times as many men committing suicide than women.

 • 1 in 5 men and 1 in 12 women begin to develop and alcohol dependant lifestyle. 
 
Here are different types of mental health illnesses in the UK: 
 • Depression- 2.6 in 100 people 
 • Mixed anxiety and depression-9.7 in 100 people 
 • Phobias- 2.6 in 100 people 
 • OCD-1.3 in 100 people 
 • Panic disorder- 1.2 in 100 people.
