I didnt understand why it was given such importance and why it needed to be studied.

To begin, I realized that each architecture has a meaning. It has given more purpose to the buildings or the infrastructure I see everyday. It allowed me to see how it improved human life and how it created a timeless and iconic statement to a place or to a memory of an individual.

During discussion, Ms. Leynes had passionately talked about how architecture can just be a mere building; its intricate and meticulously crafted designs and artwork found in a certain interior of an infrastructure has been studied so well and introduced to generations (like me) that will appreciate it and understand it more clearly.

I appreciate how we tackled mostly religious infrastructures because it gave me a deeper appreciation to my religion and to the churches all over the world. Particularly The Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, the home of the highest religious leader here on earth.

I also really liked the fact that the structure is more of an 'open form' since it opens out to the rest of the city and not just a closed type of architecture.

4. Considering questions number 2 and 3, do architectures have insurance? Michelangelo created the ‘Pieta’ in 1497. A cardinal - Jean de Billheres, commissioned Michelangelo to create a sculpture that would be placed into a side chapel at the Old St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

‘Pieta’ was made out of a block of Carrara marble. The two subjects of the sculpture is Mary carrying her dead Son, Jesus on her lap. From Mary, we can see that her emotionless face depicts the worry and sorrow, all combined together. As for Jesus, he lays hopelessly in the arms of his mother, from the wounds that the world has given Him.

The sculpture ‘Pieta’ is a Fine Art that I see as beautiful because it shows the relationship of Mary and Jesus. This was also one of the key events from the history of us, Catholics. Besides that, from its form, we can see how beautiful it was created for the Church. The intricate carved marble design, the details of the two main subjects: Mother Mary and Jesus Christ, the smooth and light flow that the clothes give off and the perfect harmony of all the details combined. The beauty and value of the ‘Pieta’ makes the entirety greater.
