My grandma fled from Jamaica because of the corrupt government. Unfortunately, this corrupt government is still prevalent to this day. Jamaica has an issue when it comes to the government being honest with money. Furthermore, when elections roll around, governments will often get votes by force. Not to mention riots and gangs that pop up in attempts to protest this mistreatment.

Bun & Cheese Bread

Bun bread is a sweet type of bread, and you put in cheese in between it. It comes from Jamaica and traditionally eaten around Easter.

Another thing from Jamaica cuisine is the pairing of Beef Patty & Coco Bread. This is apart of my culture as well, because it's from Jamaica and its food. I used to go to this one place called 500 degrees to eat it.

Jamaican Oxtails

The oxtails that Jamaica makes are normally slow-cooked and made into a stew. The oxtails are really soft, and you're supposed to make it soft enough until the meat falls off the bone. The sides are inter-changable.
