The red arrow represents the carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which the plant uses along with the water received at the roots. In return, this puts out oxygen into the air. Global warming affects these areas due to temperature rising and changes in precipitation. If there is not enough precipitation the grassland will become a dessert as the only thing that can separate them is rainfall. The overgrazing and crop cleaning is also an issue. Clearing so many crops takes out the natural nutrients in the soil. I believe one of the most important chemicals derived from plants is the salicylic acid found in willows. This is an anti-inflammatory agent that reduces pain. It is the main component in the creation of aspirin. After all, no one is checking up on these things so there is no one to intervene with negative practices and to keep the world clean and safe for everyone. It would look as if there were no care given to the earth and its creatures.
