         <description><![CDATA[<div>Most Dominicans in New York City live in <strong>Washington Weights</strong>, a neighborhood which is located in the very North of <strong>Manhattan</strong> (right above Harlem). They represent the largest group of Hispanics in NYC and the largest wave of immigrants came to the US in the <strong>1960s</strong> (after the fall of the Trujillo regime). There are about <strong>700,000</strong> Dominicans in New York State. Their typical breakfast is made up of mangú, fried eggs, fried salami, fried cheese and sometimes avocado. They love eating rice with beans, pork or beef and salsa. Yummy!!!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Indians come from India and the largest concentration of Indians is in New York, with 53% of the population living in<strong> the Queens.<br></strong>Sizable numbers of Indians began to migrate to the U.S. during the early 1900s, and settled primarily on the <strong>West Coast.</strong> Migration has continued ever since, with a large increase in number since the 1960s when a 1965 immigration law brought immigrants from Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.<br>The culinary specialties of the Indians are mainly<strong> naan </strong>(bread cake), <strong>samosas</strong> and <strong>tandoori</strong> <strong>chicken</strong>.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Korean people mostly living in Korean town (K-Town).They began to immigrate to the US in large numbers,around the 1965's and alot between 1900's and 2000's.  <br>  <br>Some traditions,foods,...:<br>-Gimjang (Kimjang), is the traditional annual event of preparation and preservation of kimichi, a spicy dish made of fermented vegetables. They are made from mid-october, to late november, with fresh seasonal vegetables.The main ingredients are cabbages,radishes and chili peppers.But there are a lot of type of kimichis. There are conserved in a cold weather.<br>-The hanbok is a traditional Korean dress, weared during traditional festivals and celebrations.<br>-Bibimbap, is a popular Korean dish made of rice, meat and assorted vegetables.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We are talk about the Filipinos in New York. First, the Filippinos are a ethnicity of New York. So, the Filipinos come from Philippines. It is a country of Southeast Asia, next to Vietnam and Malaysia, between the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean. This country assemble 7107 islands. The capital of Philippines is Manila. The Filipinos speak english and filipino. <br>Then, most of the Filipinos arrived in New York before 1920s. <br><br>Most of Filipinos in New York live in Queens area. Their typical foods are adobo (chicken meat cooked with garlic, lemon and soy sauce), lumpia (same as chinese springrolls) they are all serve with rice.<br>For desserts, they have turron, banana platains wrap in brick sheet with caramel and fruit salad, fresh mixed fruits with vanilla ice cream on top. <br>Filipinos don't eat appetizers in general.<br><br>Rachel and Léonie <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Polish are the people who live in Poland. Poland is in Europe. It is situated between Germany and Ukraine.<br><br>Polish came to New-York first between 1680 and 1760 and then in 1900 there was a massif influx of Polish migrants. Like a lot of people they lived in particular neighboroughs. Their neighborough is call, still today, "Little Poland". The essential part of this neighborough is situated in the north of Brooklyn. Little Poland lokes like a little town with his church, his shops and his restaurants. You can found lot of typical things there.<br><br> If you go to a restaurant in Little Poland you will find typical and delicious food like "pierogis" kinds of ravioli stuffed with white cheese, mushrooms, cabbage, potatoes or meat. You can also find "bigos" a delicious dish prepared with sauerkraut, vegetables, mushrooms, pieces of sausage and smoked meat.<br><br>Now there is about 10 millions Americans with Polish origins, wich represent more than 3% of the population. The polish community of New-York is the second most important of the USA just after that of Chicago.<br><br>Lots of films where shots in Little Poland. The largest Russian-American communities in New York City are located in <strong>Brighton Beach</strong> in <strong>Brooklyn</strong>. Brighton Beach has been nicknamed <strong><em>Little Russia</em></strong> due to its population of Russian-speaking immigrants from Ukraine and Russia.  </div><div> </div><div>The first wave of immigrants to the United States from Russia arrived during the <strong>1800s</strong>. The current wave of Russian Immigrants, largely Russians Jews, began during the <strong>1970s</strong> and increased along with Russians Christians and other ethnic Russians who immigrated to the United States after the collapse of the Soviet Union in <strong>1991</strong>, with the largest number going to the New York metropolitan area.</div><div><br></div><div>The New York State area has a population of <strong>1.6 million</strong> Russian-Americans and <strong>600,000</strong> of them live in New York City. There are over <strong>220,000</strong> Russian-speaking Jews living in New York City.
