What I mean by this is that the Red Scare was a period of time which was a crisis because it was not a battle or a war. A quote that supports that this was just a mistake period of time from the passage "Red Scare" is "The Red Scare led to a range of actions that had a profound and enduring effect on U.S. government and society. Federal employees were analyzed to determine whether they were sufficiently loyal to the government".This quote shows that it was a period of time where rather than fighting,the government just did further investigation on those who seemed communist.
