This is Cuba Lake New York, a small man made lake located about 30 minutes from Jamestown New York. This place is sacred to me because it is a place that I meet up with my family that I do not see very often. Everyone always have a great time and it is awesome to meet up with family that I rarely see. Family is very important, and this is a meeting place where everyone is able to go and catch up with each other. To me, this is sacred, because it is very important that you stay connected with your family. It is also a place were people can relax and de-stress, which I think is also very important.

Religion

My understanding of religion has changed in that religion doesn't have to be a stereotypical "religion" like Christianity or Buddhism. It can be whatever you want it to be, or whatever that you find sacred. It doesn't have to have a higher power, or have to have some kind of formal event or ritual, as long as it means something to you, and its something that you follow. Before this class, I never really thought about this much, and when I did, I usually just assumed religions were pretty much all the same. I know now that this is not true.

in the story of Adam and Eve, Eve spoke to the serpent that questioned her on what God had told her about the garden. Eve Tells the serpent that God told her that she could eat the fruit from the tress of garden, but she must not eat from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, or she will die. The serpent explains to her that she would indeed die if she ate it. Regardless of this, Eve thought that the fruit looked very appealing. So appealing, that she went ahead and took some of the tree. She took the fruit from the tree and kept some for herself, and also gave some to Adam. After they ate it, they realized that they had become naked. God became upset at both Adam and Eve. Eve tells god that it was the serpent that deceived her into eating it, and as a result, God began to punish everyone. God told Eve that “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children", which is not good, and will effect many people in bad ways. God also tells her that her husband will rule over her, which is also another negative thing towards women. Why must god be so cruel towards Eve? Her punishment's seemed much greater than the ones given to the serpent or her husband. The serpent had deceived her into eating from the tree, she believed she would great knowledge if she ate from it. Was god more cruel and gave the husband over the rule of the wife because he believed that women were inferior, maybe it was because that man was created first? I don't believe this is the case. I think that it was because she took the fruit form the tree.
