We gave the common assessment and our kids struggled with the chair question because they had 6 kids who could sit in 7 chairs and it confused them.

The kiddos were able to identify the pictures from Llama Llama at about 89%. I guess my biggest ick is that we spend SOOOO much time with one text and the kiddos are getting bored with EL. My students do not do well with whole group instruction.

At BES we had 100% of our students able to draw a toy and describe it.

On our assessment for math, 80% of our students mastered Unit 1.

With El students are struggling to speak using sentence frames, and speaking in complete sentences.

Strengths in El are students are picking up larger vocab words

IM- students are struggling to stay engaged and are very frustrated with the repetitiveness of the current unit.

In EL 100% of my students were able to identify Llama's feelings by the details in the pictures. However, students struggled to speak in complete sentences using the sentence frame.

EL:

strength: doing well with the sentence frames and developing a full sentence to explain their thinking and ideas

weakness: identifying the name of the toy before they were naming attributes because they were really focused on choosing an attribute

IM:

strength: Counting and using the math tools to help them develop number sense

weakness: still working on fluency of subitizing larger numbers that are not in a structured group, and using their fingers to show numbers 7 and 8 fluently

IM strength: FH is at almost 100% mastery counting to 10 and stating "how many"

As Amanda stated, we have minimized the repetition in EL in order to have time in our schedule to have direct writing instruction. Our students really struggle to hold a pencil, put pencil to paper, etc. so that direct writing instruction is critical.
