The student remembers the moments of this story and is able to organize them and put them in chronological order. This student is also developing strength in punctuation as she is learning where to use periods This draft taught me that it can be harder for ELL students to learn spelling during second language writing development. It is common for students to sound out words and spell them wrong as they don't know every phoneme/grapheme  yet, but this student could pronounce the words and only used a few letters to represent that word. The student is trying to write family, but spells it fmle which is missing a lot of letters, but has enough for her to identify the word. She was able to speak extremely well in Spanish and even translate directions to other students and this showed me that she has literacy in her L1 orally, but not with writing. The student does have literacy in her L2 which is English. She was able to talk, read, and write in English. The student added the periods that she previously learned about and has now learned comma usage. She was very descriptive in her story and used details in every sentence. In regards to second language writing development, the student has a hard time with capitalization. She alternates between lowercase and uppercase letters all throughout the story.
