Creating vibrant pictures using unspun colored wool (also known as wool roving) is more than just a fun craft for children; it is a meaningful way to celebrate Earth Day while teaching the importance of renewable resources. This activity provides a hands-on opportunity to explain how we can use "gifts from the Earth" that regrow naturally, rather than depleting finite resources.

Felting or layering wool requires very little energy and no toxic glues, echoing the Earth Day message of reducing our carbon footprint.

Harvesting olives in our garden and transforming them into oil is a powerful, hands-on way to celebrate Earth Day. This activity connects children to the earth’s natural cycles while highlighting the beauty of renewable food systems. Picking olives by hand teaches children about low-impact agriculture. It shows that we can gather resources without heavy machinery or environmental harm. Using the fresh olive oil in salads allows children to experience the "farm-to-table" concept directly. It fosters an appreciation for organic, locally grown food, which carries a much smaller carbon footprint than store-bought alternatives.

The activity includes discussions about the importance of plants, composting, natural resources, and renewable sources of energy.

To celebrate Earth Day, our students learned about the importance of protecting our planet and the value of recycling. They discussed simple ways to care for the environment and reduce waste in their daily lives.

Using recycled and reusable materials, the children created imaginative crafts, giving new life to items that would otherwise be thrown away. Through this hands-on activity, they developed their creativity while understanding that even small actions can make a big difference for our Earth. Together, we celebrated the message that everyone can help build a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future. 🌍♻️
