After medical school, I focused on the human psyche, writing a masterwork on the subject, entitled The Principles of Psychology. I later became famous the literary piece The Will to Believe and Other Essays in Popular Philosophy, which was published in 1897.

I also developed the philosophical perspective known as radical epiricism, which a philosophical doctrine. It asserts that experience includes both particulars and relations between those particulars, and that therefore both deserve a place in our explanations. Your consciousness is on high alert as you adapt to your surroundings. If you come from a big city with a high crime rate to a small town, you most likely will have a difficult time adjusting to people who will go out of their way to talk to you or offer help.
