So, we can state that an approach is a way of looking at teaching and learning. Underlying any language teaching approach is a theoretical view of what language is, and of how it can be learnt. An approach gives rise to methods, the way of teaching something, which use classroom activities or techniques to help learners learn.

Approach: It is the way in which you are going to approach a project or task. It refers to the angle you are using or the direction you are going to take. There can be a more than one way to approach a task. In academic field, approach can refer to the theoretical framework you are going to use in a project.

For example, if a teacher gives her students a piece of literature, and ask them to write an analysis, there will be different approaches. Some students will approach the work by analyzing the language while some students will focus on themes. There will be others who approach the work through an analysis of structure.

4. DOGME: conversational activities and exposure to the language through real-life texts, and audio.

8. Natural Approaches: listening and following instructions; memory games.

Methodology in English teaching involves a notional-functional syllabus and a structural one, it means that a certain method will be used by the teacher and it must be an effective system of tasks both in practice and in theory.  The student will always be the center, in other words, every class will be developed to clarify the student's doubts and focus this program or syllabus on achieving the communicative competence student’s goals.
This means that each professor should be able to determine which method they will utilize in classes in order to fulfill the learners' needs. Also, this depends on the kind of approach the teacher will utilize.

Technique is a particular method of doing an activity, specifictly those who involve practical skills. There are different approaches were we can apply different techniques; most of them are techniques that include listening and repeating, techniques that involves reading subject - specific text, those that include conversational activities and exposure to a language, techniques that include searching texts for lexical units and techniques that are focus on meaningful interactions. It is important to know that these techniques will help students with English teaching-learning process, utilizing them make learners become more active and creative during the classes.

A teaching approach is a plan of action that the teaching-learning process is going to take, it sets the attitude toward teaching that educators will take. Approaches state the structural foundation for methods, techniques, and strategies to be created and developed. Teaching approaches are based on perceptions and reasoning about learning that originated from epistemology researchers' hypotheses and theories on how it's most efficient for students and teachers to develop the teaching-learning process. Thus methods, techniques, strategies, and all educational procedures have to be aligned with a specific approach like clockwork to ensure that learners develop their competencies, acquire knowledge and meet the class's objectives.
