In Yertle the Turtle and our government relate to each other about finding the different forms of government for our country/ kingdoms that will best benefit  the citizens.
 Voting is a right of every U.S. citizen and we should all vote because our votes matter and can change things for the better. Every voice counts in a government, like how we learned from Yertle the Turtle a good government can only thrive if the citizens do something about it. 

Our government had many forms of government in the past that did not work out, just like in yertle the Turtle. Eventually we stuck with democracy because it would not give power to just one person or a group of people. The U.S. government has principles or rules to follow so that the government would be ‘balanced’. For example if the president were to make a new law it would have to be approved by many different parties to become a law. Yertle the Turtle, since he was the only ruler, did not have a very balanced government.
