The use of RubiStar is free and doesn't require an account to be able to use it's tools. It helps to provide students with specific details of what is needed for completion of an assignment, but also allows teachers to save significant time while still meeting the high demand of a rubic. RubiStar can also be used as a professional development tool as it is easily accessible and easily shown to other teachers. It was created by ALTEC and has been revamped over the course of it's use to keep it up to date and user friendly. It's creation was based off of project based learning and the need for a high quality rubric system. Research
