"Astonishing...A remarkable novel...A vital and engrossing experience." That's how James Wood, an English literary critic, describes Edna O' Brien's new masterpiece: The Little Red Chairs.
Written in 2012 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the start of the siege of Sarajevo by Bosnian- Serb forces, it is a spectacular piece of work. It holds you in its clutches from the first page to the last: the book has a global reach, as O' Brien is a very gifted novelist. You should read this novel because Edna O' Brien is one of the greatest Irish writers of any era: I am pretty sure about it and time will prove so.
The title comes from the red chairs that were laid-out in row along the 800 metres of Sarajevo High Street.
The writer is Edna O'Brien (born 15th December 1930), who is an Irish novelist, memorist, playwright, poet and short story writer.
Her works often revolve around the inner feelings of women and their problems in relating to men and to society.

"Alice's adventures in Wonderland" is a fantasy novel written by Lewis Carrol, pseudonymous of an English writer and mathematician Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. This novel, which is his masterpiece, was written after a travel made with Liddell's daughters. The story was invented for them and Alice Liddell asked him to publish this novel. The character of the novel is Alice, a child who was sleeping and dreamed that she was following a rabbit that she saw in a garden. The story starts in this moment: she falls in the rabbit hole and she is in a big room full of doors. She sees a small door in front of a garden and she changes her dimensions different times, eating magic food found in different places.
She will meet weird people and at the end of her adventure, she wakes up. This nosense story is full of mathematical concepts, proverbs and historical facts. Alice is confused, she doesn't know who she is and she forgets what she learned. The topic of the novel is the nosense that lives in children's soul and that goes away when children grow up. The meeting with the white rabbit and the other crazy situation create the beauty of the novel, which is perfect for young and old readers who want to dream.

My book was writed by Judith Gorog ,she was born in 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin, Judith Gorog grew up in Pennsylvania, Texas, and California before moving with her mother and stepfather to Wiesbaden, Germany, where she attended an American Air Force high school. After the suburbs, Gorog loved lived in a European city, and spent her time exploring the beautiful streets visiting coffeehouses .The book was published for the first time in 1988 . This short story collection is introduced with a brief retelling of the Biblical story of Jacob's dream, in which he wrestles with an angel and then asks for a blessing in exchange for its release. The three dreams and the nightmare of the title are interspersed with ten other tales in a variety of genres. Literary treatments of familiar campfire tales of the macabre are included, and other stories borrow from the folktale tradition. We can find other geners, like a traditional ghost tale about a restless soul and a short sci-fi story about the perfect solution for torn sweatshirts, one of the few totally original and unique stories in the collection. Although most of the themes and motifs used here are familiar, they are occasionally given an unexpected twist. The part I liked most of the book is in the third chapter of the book. Precisely when the qualities that Van Horn describes managed to acquire through the blessing. "It was as if she were dancing the clay in the hands of the young Potter." I really liked this phrase .
The language used in the various stories is medium , only in some part ok the book becomes highest . In conclusion I think this book is good , it is great ti spend some time in tranquility.
