and then you would add on the  two that you took away and that will make 22

my stratagem i'm using to do tidy numbers is by using the tens first and then adding on the ones like this:
25 + 48 = ?
20 + 40 =  50
5 + 8 = 13
50 + 10 + 3 = 63

We are learning to add using tidy numbers...You can do it like this! So 15+18= _ ...So you can add the two tens So 10+10=20 and then add a five on the twenty So 20+5=25 and then from the eight get a five out of the eight and add it on to the 25 so 25+5=30 then how many left from the eight is three so it must be 15+18=33...
