Everyone would be considered completely equal. For it to truly be a perfect society there everyone would have to be united under one religion and political association. There would be no outside influence and technology would probably be evolved to automate much of life or it would be completely absent. Likely no in between.

A politically correct climate in many places is slowly taking away freedom of speech not to mention that many other countries already didn't have freedom of speech and are losing their rights more and more due to political correctness. AI is evolving at an exponential rate and in the near future all it would take is one evil person or a simple coding mistake to create an unstoppable AI that expands itself without human action. It sets up an allusion to the Chinese Zodiac that sets the tone for the story and makes us think about how a family can be compatible.

2. Her birth family appears less happy, but tired and hard working. They don't really talk to each other like her current family does.

3. In the past the food is bland and forced which compares to the family. In the current family they are happy and describe the food much better like it all goes good together. Like their family.

4. She likes her current family more, but her past still influences her because they go to the same restaurant and order the same meal. Only she enjoys that same meal much more with people she would rather be around.

5. The poem ends very ominously with the Rutabaga almost to say something bad will happen to them with reference to fate. It could still be considered a happy ending though.

1. The events show that she is unhappy with her past family as they simply did not go together well and she likes her new family more, but something bad could happen and ruin that. It would be different because it would be more clear and not get the message of fate across as well.

3. No the overall tone is not ironic. It is ironic because they are happy, but almost eat a poisonous rutabaga which is a metaphor for something bad potentially happening to their family.

1. This poem comments on the quote by proving that happy families have their differences or things that make them unique too. 2. Her mom is dull and uncaring, so she feels unsupported at home. Her parents keep just going through the motions.

4. She describes gunfire as sounding like "microwave popcorn". This shows how she doesn't take the situation seriously and hasn't considered the danger of what is happening.
5. She wants to be close to her brother and isn't considering much else.
6. By being aloof and never talking to her seriously about the situation except for once he causes her to pursue him even more.
