The two characters I will be comparing and contrasting in the book are Percy Jackson and Jason Grace. Percy Jackson and Jason Grace are both demigods. And both children of the big three. Percy and Jason were both leaders of the 2 camps(Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter). They also got stripped of some of there memories from Hera. They are both one of the 7 heroes in the Argo 2. Together, Percy and Jason can summon hurricane/storms. Percy's real name is Perseus Jackson. Unlike Jason, Percy does no use his real name very often. Percy is a Greek demigod but Jason is a Roman demigod. Percy's godly parent is Poseidon and Jason's godly parent is Jupiter. Percy has power to control water while Jason had the power to summon lightning.

What lesson(s) did you learn from this book?

The book teaches us that it is good to be different. When the sameness happened, people started to be unable to feel emotions. They did sameness to make everything the same cause they thought being different caused a negative impact. However, the main character of Giver soon realizes that people shouldn't have done sameness.

What is the conflict or problem of the story? Have you ever experienced anything like this?

The problem in the beginning of the story is that the Taliban had asked Habib to help them. The conflict is for Fadi and his family to run away from Afghanistan to the US. Later on, the conflict is that Mariam got lost during the escape and the rest of the family is trying to find her. I never experience anything like what Fadi experienced in Afghanistan.

Imagine yourself as the main character in the story. Would you make a different decision than the character? Explain why or why not.

In the book, Harry made the decision of insisting on the sorting hat that he should be sorted into the house of bravery, Gryffindor instead of the house of ambition, Slytherin. However, if I was Harry I would have definitely chosen to go to Slytherin when the Sorting Hat said that I would be able to achieve great things if I went there. I have a lot of ambition and a huge want for power meaning Slytherin would have been the perfect house for me.
