The reason why we need to wear all blacks in a performing arts school or even in drama lessons is so that there is no competition between students and that we are professional and properly dressed ready for work or school wok also it is a nurtural colour to use which doesn't get much attention because it is common.

The reason why we don't wear jewellery is because of the damage that can happen when doing a warm up activity or even physical theatre which can cause your ear pierceings or even of types of jewellery like a necklace and watch. but also it is not professional.

The reason why hair should be a issue is because having long hair is not practical when it comes to activity to do with seeing your face expressions and to do with moving around and using your body, which will be distracting and can cause a lot of issues with seeing and being able to use your full potential.

The reason why footwear is also a issue is because having footwear can make the floor dirty especially when u came from outside so it show respect when taking of your shoes, if there are activity that need you to use body language it is not practical to wear shoes because it can get in the way of your full protential in dance or even acting unless you need to wear shoes for your character but in a warm up it is not wise.

Task 3: Why does a performer need to warm up?

Why is a warm up important?
A warm up is important because you need to prepare the body for longer and global movements and help to decrease tension in the muscles and joints. Not just for dance but for other things in performing arts as well.

What should a warm up include to help a performer be ready for a class or rehearsal?
A warm up should include exercises that increase your heart rate and can reduce muscle stiffness which can help when someone had a rough night or didn't get enough sleep. I would include games that are in groups and having the person to move the body as well as to get them thinking as to what to do and what not to do this will keep them aware of what's around them as well as improving the focus in a class but in a rehearsal I would recommend more of a one person thing as you may not have time to work in groups. here are the main points of a warm up.
- Vocal warm up
- Physical warm up
- Energising warm up
- Focus warm up
- Thinking fast warm up

Exploring the poem - Dulce decorum Est (6/03/19)

Today we were focusing on a poem by Wilfred Owen who wrote the poem explaining what war was like in WW1 which is the same war he died in.
We then annotated the poem analysing key word in the poem to get a picture or a idea of what we think it will be like to make the poem more realist so we were put into groups and had to create for still images which were then turned into movement and explaining what style we were going for and me and my group chose Artaud which gives a grotesque outlook on the poem
as well as just making it realist which in my mind wasn't going to show the deepness of our still image.
Then as we got started we only needed to do the first paragraph then pick out words or lines we wanted to choose so my group chose 'Bent double, like old beggars under sacks' which was the beginning of our scene showing the soldiers going through a difficult journey, knock-kneed ( Showing soldiers who could not walk properly), Coughing like hags ( Showing that we are coughing like old men and women), Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs which was that we haired a loud bang and we turned our heads in fear, limped on ( Showing some soldiers seriously injured), blood-shod ( Showing some bleeding from parts they were injured from), all went lame; all blind; drunk with fatigue ( Showing how drained and we was and showing some who went blind because of the gas coming from the bomb, deaf demonstrating soldiers who were deaf because the sound of the bomb, tired ( Showing fatigue) and dropped behind ( Showing soldiers who couldn't take anymore or injuries were to much and died).

Today we started focusing on a script which has Scottish dialect and to do with what the soldiers would think and feel and what they are like in a group on one of there missions. (W/C 20/03/19)

Today we started with a script, we looked at the interactions and dialect which of how there manner was which is very boyish and sort of childish with there dialect and how there language is (Scottish).

The text was also quite in your face as the dialect was a Scottish dialect and was quite hard to pronounce but what we had learnt from it is how the soldiers are as a team and what there relationship is as a group.

Then we started to do a run through of our movement piece and then added dialogue to give a sort of background to our story and started to perform in front of the class to get good or bad feedback (in which i would explain later on) to understand if we understood were the soldiers were coming from and if we were able to understand how they felt and what they were thinking.

What we need to do is now understand what a soldier might do in a similar situation for example how they speak to one another?, What it means to be a soldier and the sacrifice you have to make? Also to do some research to help with that understanding.

The good feedback that we got from the class what that we were able to show a deep meaning through our piece and what we needed to show when it came to demonstrating two soldiers who were buddies in training.
The bad feedback was that there wasn't enough dialogue and there were some parts we needed to work on a bit for example were do we fir the action with the dialogue and what would be a better option.
