Along with these courses there is the opportunity for a summer trip to visit Japan. During this trip you will see different cities in the country and get to use your language skills.

When you use Japanese there are different forms of language that show how formal you’re being. You’re less formal with people your own age, and more formal with people you don’t know or people who are older than you. 

The Japanese language contains many loan words, these are words taken from other languages that are said the same. 

For example Computer in Japanese is  コンピューター and pronounced Konpyūtā.

Of these, the vast majority, about 124 million, reside within Japan and the island group of Okinawa. Another two million or so live in the United States, Canada and Australia, areas where Japanese have immigrated or moved temporarily for business purposes. 

Japan is a country full of diverse culture, food, and places. Knowing Japanese will give you access to all of that.

Japanese is a very useful business language, especially in the automotive and technology worlds. Many  car and technology brands found in the US are Japanese in origin such as:  Honda, Nintendo, and Sony. 

Knowing Japanese gives you a useful skill to put  on a resume.
