African Americans laws were broken there were stores that would purposely mess things up for them. Many people blame them for things they didn't do. The most famous boycott is the montegomery bus boycott. This boycott was to make it so anyone could sit down no matter the color. So you didn't have to get up when a white man needs a seat. The first person to start this was Rosa Parks. There were also many other protests to help make them equal like voting. They protested for anything that would make them equal.
