Food scientists make food addictive by adding fat, sugar and salt. These are so addictive. I know this first hand. Chocolate chip cookies have a ton of sugar. That is why they are amazing. Those are the three pillars of making addictive food. They have a place where if you add enough, you hit the best place and it is super addictive. These flavors are amazing. They are the base of a ton of sweet treats and unhealthy but amazing foods. They give us a dopamine rush. Dopamine is a chemical that triggers pleasure. When ever we are happy, dopamine is released. The sugar is sweet and makes cakes and cookies so good. If you eat one, BOOM! Dopamine explosion. It makes us happy and we are always craving happiness so we want more. Same for sugar and fat. Recently, health food has become popular and people want stuff with whole wheat and vitamins. Companies reacted and now we have a ton of health food they track trends and make addictive food accordingly.

The science of addictive food

Any addictive food usually has a main 3 ingredients fat, sugar, and salt (F.S.S). Any example of addictive food has these three ingredients F.S.S. For example Oreos are made up of all of those ingredients so you won't stop eating. Some foods are not even made up of real food, for example in the video it shows the at you can make a cheese flavor enhancer without the cheese! You just have to mix F.S.S and some proteins to make it. The makers of this product use fake cheese so that they don't have to pay so much for real cheese. The food scientist’s make it so that there is a chemical reaction that comes from your tongue to replicate something that it is not. When we eat food, a “reward system” in our brain lets out chemicals such as the neurotransmitter dopamine. when we eat an addictive food it releases this chemical. This chemical gives us pleasure. so when we eat more and more of the is food our dopamine levels go down. This will make you think that is bad for food companys, no it is quite the opposite. you will crave the taste that we had when our dopamine levels were 100%.

Foods become addictive when substances scientists put in food cause a chemical reaction in your brain that makes you only focus on how good the food is and not how it might affect your health. Also the scientists use artificial ingredients that create the Illusion of tastes that aren't really there. Without these artificial ingredients the food would taste horrible. To make foods addictive scientists need to have the right balance of fat, protein, sodium and carbohydrate. Too much or to little of any ingredient and the food would be bland or over flavored.

I used flour as a substitute for spelt and olive oil as a substitute for butter. The properties of spelt are it is more fragile and more water soluble, which makes it easier to digest. The fiber content of whole spelt is actually slightly lower than that of whole wheat, but they have similar amounts of soluble fiber. Wheat flour is unique among the cereal grain flours in that, when mixed with water, its protein components form an elastic network capable of holding gas and developing a firm spongy structure during baking. I substituted flour for spelt because they are similar. I was able to produce a similar sugar cookie than the original.

i did what makes food addictive.
One of the many thing that makes food addictive is the blend of ingredients. due to all of the math and chemistry the food companies use they are able to make the food irresistible. They also use things like the sound that the food makes in your mouth or the shape of the food. they make the food crunch in a specific way to make it satisfying and desirable to eat. And they use this to make the food more pleasing and more addictive. They also do a thing were at first the taste of the food is amazing but as you eat it the taste gets less pleasing the longer in your mouth, so you then want replenish that taste in your mouth making you reach for another.

What are some wondering you have related to the UNIT phenomena- What happens when two substances are mixed together:

-how are is sediment formed .

-Answer:Particles that form a sedimentary rock by accumulating are called sediment. Before being deposited, sediment was formed by weathering and erosion in a source area, and then transported to the place of deposition by water, wind, mass movement, or glaciers.

what foods should never be eaten together?

Answer:Avoid mixing your watermelons, muskmelons, cantaloupe and honeydews with other fruits. Try not to mix acidic fruits such as grapefruits and strawberries, or sub-acidic foods such as apples, pomegranates and peaches, with sweet fruits, such as bananas and raisins for a better digestion.

Wanna know why those chips are so tasty? Why you just cant stop wanting chocolate? Well here is why! The people who develop the products use chemicals and salt, sugar, and add extra materials to make it crunchy. First, the chemicals, the chemicals send reactions to the brain right on touch of the taste buds, while the brain tries to remind the body how unhealthy it is, the chemicals hide the signal and just show the good of it. Next, the salt. A biological fact, is to most bodies, salt is very tasty with chips, and more foods. So on those potato chips you love, you just like the salt!
Try eating chips with no salt, maybe you're opinions will change? Same with sugar! It's so tasty but so unhealthy if you get too much of it! And finally, the crunchiness and layers. Most people love crunchiness and extra layers of chocolate in their deserts! Well, those are the reasons why you just love the unhealthy sweet and salty foods you eat!

The substances that go into a chemical reaction are called the reactants, and the substances produced at the end of the reaction are known as the products.

2.Can the molecule's break off of the atoms when being stirred?:
Yes, in fact they can break even without stirring (Like coke and Minto's they break their molecular bond and create a chemical reaction.)

I asked these because I could no think of anything else.

Why are some foods addictive? Because Food Scientists put special artificial chemicals that taste so good you think about eating more and more and more and finally makes you addicted. This is because the chemical makes your brain focus on eating another one, ignoring everything else, for example about how the food might affect you. The first thing that makes it addictive is all the sugar, fat, salt that the food scientists balance the flavor to make addictive. The Second reason is the sound that the product makes, for example, the crunch in the chips that make your brain focus on eating more. the reason the crunch is so loud is because your jaw is so close to your ears. The third reason is because of the chemical in your brain that makes you to want to keep eating it.

The three main ingredients that scientests use to make food addictave are sugar, fat, and salt and when scientests mix the most perfect amount of each of these thats what makes a product taste amazing. Without these the food would taste horrible and make you want to spit it out. Such as when one man had cheez- its without the salt he didn't even want to swallow it tasted so bad. The reason why these taste delicous is due to the way your brain reacts to it. What happens is when you taste these ingredients it activates the part of your brain that makes you feel pleasure which makes you want to have more and more and more which makes the product irresistable. Then that is what makes some food taste so good.

Custard can be made in a number of ways - powdered, UHT, baked, stirred, etc. The most common custards, however, are creme anglaise and creme patisserie. By making it healthy, I added more milk, and stirred it until it was pure liquid
This was the final results I ended up with (and I a little bit pomegranate to give it a spark)
How to Make Custard | Better Homes & Gardens (bhg.com)

Cocaine makes food addictive such as junk food. cocaine gives you pleasure and endorphins making it hard to stop. Cocaine and sugar are quit similar because they come in such small portions but have lots of sweetness making you want more. Salt no matter good or bad for you has a taste that you cant resist to example you ate some chips the salt would make you want more chips because the salt is addictive and pleasurable for your taste buds.

A Healthy version of banana bread

The original recipe is on the back of the box of Pillsbury Quick Banana Bread. It is also in the picture. I chose to substitute the eggs. Eggs can give you heart problems if you have too much. Eggs add flavor to bread and color and structure. I used ground flaxseed and a mushed up banana for my egg substitute. Bananas are healthy because they are a fresh fruit. Flaxseed reduces the risk of cancer and it also improves your digestive health and lowers blood pressure. THe back of the back of flaxseed tells me it is a good egg substitute for baking. I did not adjust any other parts of the recipe. I put the picture of my bread in the padlet. THe banana bread tasted really good compared to other banana bread we made with eggs.
